Yesterday afternoon, just as I was about to duck into the metro to go home after a day of running errands, I heard the call of a live outdoor concert. This time it wasn't just a guy with an instrument and an upside down hat at his feet. This time it was the police band, and they were in the square in front of the big police station near Notre Dame. Who knew that the police were such gifted musicians! Listen in as they play "Fleur de Paris," a song celebrating the liberation of Paris in August, 1944 after 4 years of Nazi occupation.
